Child deaths resulting from child abuse and neglect have been on the rise in Texas. Texas Peace Officers are in need of adequate, affordable, and up-to-date training on how to better respond to and investigate child abuse and neglect cases, primarily child sexual abuse and exploitation. The Advanced Child Abuse Investigation training encourages the use of multidisciplinary teams comprised of professionals from law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, medical, and other related fields to combat child abuse and allow for full victim restoration.

Having the right group of instructors is absolutely vital to the effectiveness of the training and success of the program. An Advanced Child Abuse Investigation Instructor must have a comprehensive understanding of the subject, including benefits of using multidisciplinary teams, and the resources available for those victims.
